THOMAS P. MATLOCK RECEIVES RCMA's HIGHEST HONOR

Martin A. Davis RCMA Industry Leadership Award

[Washington, DC] - The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association [RCMA] named Thomas P. Matlock, Vice President (Retail Products Business Unit), The Brewer Company, Milford, Ohio, as the recipient of the RCMA's prestigious Martin A. Davis RCMA Industry Leadership Award.

This award, the highest tribute bestowed by the RCMA, is presented on an annual basis to that individual, selected by his or her peers, who has exemplified outstanding service and made significant contributions to the roof coatings industry. The announcement of Matlock as this year's honoree and the presentation of the award were made on January 18, 2005, during the RCMA 2005 Annual Conference & Expo, January 15-18 2005, at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas, Nevada.

Involved in the RCMA's activities essentially since it's founding in 1982, Matlock has served in a variety of elected and volunteer RCMA and industry leadership positions. He also hold a record of having attended every RCMA annual conference in the Association's history. He is a former member of the RCMA Board of Directors, and has previously served terms as Chairman of the RCMA Annual Conference Committee and the RCMA Communications Committee. "During Tom Matlock's involvement these past two decades, as well as continuing now," according to RCMA Executive Vice President Russell K. Snyder "he has consistently stepped to the forefront as an active participant in all aspects of the Association's development and growth, and has been particularly active in membership and promotion incentives." His company, The Brewer Company, is recognized as one of the Association's long-standing manufacturing member companies in RCMA and in the industry.

Matlock is the 21st industry leader designated to receive the RCMA's award. The award was first presented in 1985 posthumously to Martin A. Davis. The award was subsequently designated in honor and memory of Davis, a visionary founding member of the RCMA, who served both the Association and the industry with distinction and exceptional service. "Tom Matlock continues this record of recognition honoring those same attributes," commented RCMA Executive Director Reed Hitchcock. "His loyalty to RCMA and to the roof coatings industry has been consistent and is appreciated."

The permanent Martin A. Davis Award plaque, now engraved with Matlock's name designated as the 2004 recipient, is displayed at the RCMA headquarters office in Washington, DC. A personal plaque of the award was presented to Matlock during the ceremonies at the Annual Conference.
