DONALD W. MEEKER RECEIVES RCMA's HIGHEST HONOR
Martin A. Davis RCMA Industry Leadership Award

[Washington, DC] – The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association [RCMA] named Donald W. Meeker, President / CEO, Central Fiber Corporation, Wellsville, KS, as the recipient of the RCMA's prestigious Martin A. Davis RCMA Industry Leadership Award.

This award, the highest tribute bestowed by the RCMA, is presented on an annual basis to that individual, selected by his or her peers, who has exemplified outstanding service and made significant contributions to the roof coatings industry. The announcement of Meeker as this year's honoree and the presentation of  the award were made on January 17, 2006, during the RCMA 2006 Annual Conference & Expo, January 14-17, 2006, at the Sanibel Harbour Resort, Fort Myers, FL.

Meeker joined Central Fiber Corporation, which was founded in 1986, in 1990, and purchased the company in 1992. He has been a member of the RCMA and involved in the RCMA's activities since that acquisition. Meeker has served in a variety of elected and volunteer RCMA and industry leadership positions. He also has a distinguished listing of charitable and civic activities.

Meeker is a current member of the RCMA Associates Council; has served as chairman of the RCMA Government Affairs Committee; has served several terms as a member of the RCMA Annual Conference Committee. He has also served on various RCMA organizational task forces. He is a former member of the RCMA Board of Directors (1999-2006), and was also honored for that leadership position at the RCMA Annual Membership Meeting, held in conjunction with the Annual Conference.

“During Don Meeker’s involvement over the years, as well as continuing now,” according to RCMA Executive Vice President Russell K. Snyder “he has consistently stepped to the forefront as an active participant in all aspects of the Association’s development and growth, and has been particularly active in government affairs and membership incentives.” His company, Central Fiber Corporation, is recognized as one of the Association’s long-standing supplier member companies in RCMA and in the industry.

Meeker is the 22nd industry leader designated to receive the RCMA's award. The award was first presented in 1985 posthumously to Martin A. Davis. The award was subsequently designated in honor and memory of Davis, a visionary founding member of the RCMA, who served both the Association and the industry with distinction and exceptional service. "Don Meeker continues this record of recognition honoring those same attributes," commented RCMA Executive Director Reed Hitchcock. “His loyalty to RCMA and to the roof coatings industry has been consistent and is appreciated.”

The permanent Martin A. Davis Award plaque, now engraved with Meeker’s name designated as the 2005 recipient, is displayed at the RCMA headquarters office in Washington, DC. A personal plaque of the award was presented to Meeker during the ceremonies at the Annual Conference.
