Project of the Year

Welcome to the RCMA Project of the Year Award Program.  We are seeking submissions for our new annual awards program recognizing exemplary projects using asphaltic and solar reflective roof coatings on residential, commercial and industrial buildings. The purpose of these awards are to honor innovation, creativity, expertise, and quality project management applied towards the successful execution of a roof coatings project by roofing contractors.

The RCMA Project of the Year Award is open to all Roofing Contractors located in the United States, including Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.

The program is free to apply, and we encourage multiple submissions to showcase your outstanding projects and contributions to the roofing industry.

An independent jury of roofing professionals will judge the projects using the following criteria: Innovation, Technical Excellence, Project Complexity, Aesthetics/Design and Sustainability.

Judging Criteria

Eligible projects are reviewed by a panel of judges, which will award projects based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation: this criterion evaluates the uniqueness and creativity of the project.
  • Technical Excellence: this aspect examines the quality and precision of the work performed. It includes the effectiveness of the application process, adherence to industry standards, and the overall craftsmanship demonstrated in the project.
  • Project Complexity: judges will consider the level of difficulty and complexity involved in completing the project. This includes challenges related to project scale, structural intricacies, site conditions, and any unforeseen issues that were effectively managed.
  • Aesthetics/Design: The visual appeal of the project is also considered. This includes the overall design, color harmony, and how well the roof coating integrates with the building's architecture.
  • Sustainability: projects will demonstrate how roof coatings eliminated the need for a tear-off and extended the life of the roof.
